Dr. Damon DelBello Medical Honoree

damon-delbello-webThe Children’s Dream Foundation is pleased to be presenting its 2016 Medical Service Award to Dr. Damon DelBello for his incredible dedication to finding the best and often most innovative solution to his patients’ care and for his pioneering accomplishments in the field of pediatric scoliosis and deformities. Dr. DelBello received his undergraduate degree from Union College and completed his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, where he also completed his general surgery residency. He completed his Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children/UCLA, Los Angeles, California.

delbello-with-childDr. DelBello performs surgery at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, Northern Westchester Hospital Center, White Plains Hospital, Phelps Memorial Hospital, and Orange Regional Medical Center. Much of the complex pediatric orthopedic surgery he performs is done at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital because of the cutting edge pediatric subspecialty support available there. Dr. DelBello is extensively involved with the pediatric orthopaedic service at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College. He is responsible for the training of the residents through lectures, clinical symposia, surgical training and publishing of studies.

He is the author of numerous research papers as well as a frequent guest lecturer for local pediatricians and community hospitals on such topics as Scoliosis, pediatric hip diseases, pediatric orthopaedic infections and limb reconstruction. He teaches other Orthopaedic surgeons Scoliosis surgery techniques both in the U.S. and abroad. In addition he consults with manufacturers on the design of Orthopaedic implants and instrumentation.

Dr. DelBello Haiti MissionsDr. DelBello lives with his wife and their three children in Bedford. When not working, Damon enjoys volunteering on medical missions, boating and tinkering with cars, including rebuilding a vintage Jag.
